Now you can customize your Google Discover feed to a certain extent. Google provides options to control the content that appears in your feed based on your interests. Here are a few ways you can customize your Discover feed:
You can indicate your interests to Google by selecting topics that you want to see more or less of in your feed. To do this, you can tap the three-dot menu icon on a card in your Discover feed, select “Not interested,” and then choose whether you want to see less of the topic or remove it completely from your feed.
You can provide feedback on individual cards in your Discover feed to help Google understand your preferences better. If you find a particular card useful or not relevant, you can tap the feedback icon (represented by three dots) on the card and select “More” or “Less” to indicate your preference. This feedback helps Google improve the relevance of your feed over time.
If there are specific websites or sources you don’t want to see content from in your Discover feed, you have the option to hide them. You can tap the three-dot menu icon on a card from that source, select “Hide all stories from [website/source name],” and Google will avoid showing you content from that source in the future.
You can also manage your Discover settings to further customize your feed. To access these settings, tap the Google app on your device, tap your profile picture or initials in the top right corner, select “Settings,” and then go to “Discover” under the “General” section. Here, you can refine your interests, control notifications, and manage other Discover-related settings.
Keep in mind that while you can customize your Discover feed to some extent, the system still tries to provide a diverse range of content to introduce you to new topics and ideas. This ensures a balanced and enriching browsing experience.
By following topics, Google will present more content related to those topics in your Discover feed. You can follow multiple topics and also unfollow them if your preferences change.
It’s important to note that Discover also takes into account your search history, browsing activity, and interactions with previous content to personalize your feed. If you want to further refine your Discover experience, you can also provide feedback on individual cards in your feed or manage your Discover settings.
